American Traveler is proud to have earned and maintained the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval since 2005.
Healthcare Staffing Services Certification
American Traveler is certified by the The Joint Commission through its
Health Care Staffing Services Certification
program. American Traveler and its affiliates have continuously achieved the
Gold Seal of Approval™ for
healthcare staffing excellence since the staffing services certification process was established in 2005. The
certification acknowledges compliance with The Joint Commission’s national set of consensus-based quality standards and
demonstrates a commitment to excellence in providing healthcare staffing.
"Healthcare organizations that contract with American Traveler can look to this certification as an assurance that
American Traveler demonstrates a commitment to providing and continuously improving quality services." - Michele
Sacco, Executive Director of Health Care Staffing Services Certification, Joint Commission.
The ongoing shortages of nurses and other healthcare professionals have forced healthcare organizations to increasingly
fill positions with temporary workers through contractual arrangements with staffing firms. The Joint Commission
certification program was launched in October 2004 to offer an independent, comprehensive evaluation of a travel nursing
agency's abilities to provide competent staffing services.
"We are proud to have The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval. This honor signifies our dedication to providing
safe, high-quality care.” - Robert Bok, CEO of American Traveler.
Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission seeks to continuously improve the safety and quality of care provided to the
public through the provision of healthcare accreditation and related services. The Joint Commission evaluates and
accredits more than 15,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the United States, including over 7,800 hospitals
and home care organizations and 7,300 other healthcare organizations that provide various services including long term
care and assisted living.
The Joint Commission also accredits health plans, integrated delivery networks, and
other managed care entities. In addition, it provides certification of disease-specific care programs and primary stroke
centers. As an independent not-for-profit organization, The Joint Commission is the nation’s oldest and largest
