American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and 1+ years acute care experience for a Level 3 trauma hospital's Speech Therapy department.

Details

• Acute inpatient and acute rehab care setting within a Level 3 trauma facility
• Treats 8 to 10 patients per day with 3 SLPs staffed daily
• Covers ICU, acute tower, and rehab unit, splitting time equally between acute inpatient and acute rehab
• May float to a medical center approximately 30 minutes away
• Common diagnoses include stroke, pneumonia, and sepsis
• EPIC EMR system used for documentation
• Schedule consists of 4x10hr day shifts, 0730-1800
• Travelers typically cover Fri-Mon but schedule may shift for vacation coverage
• Traveler covers weekend shifts and holidays as needed
• Rehab aides support the department, with a manager or supervisor on each shift

Requirements

• Active CCC-SLP certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• 1+ years of acute care experience required
• Must be competent in Video Fluoroscopic Swallow Study (VFSS)
• Rehab unit experience preferred
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Scrubs are permitted but must not match the color of other departments; approved color list provided upon hire
• Unit-specific orientation typically spans 2-3 days, with an initial Monday-Friday 8-hour schedule to accommodate onboarding
• No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests accepted
• Permanent employees must be separated from employment for one year before applying for a travel assignment
• Facility maintains a 50-mile radius rule and does not accept local candidates within that radius
