Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 1+ years of experience for a night shift position, working alongside an experienced traveler preferred as the sole RRT on the unit.

Details

• Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit treating a wide variety of patient diagnoses including pulmonary fibrosis, COVID, influenza, rhinovirus, cystic fibrosis, COPD, and respiratory failure
• Performs special procedures including bronchoscopy, ventilator weaning, tracheostomy suction and care, and thoracentesis
• Utilizes special equipment such as Airvo, Servo ventilators, Intrapulmonary Percussive Ventilator (IPV), and standard ventilators
• Alternating 3x12/4x12 night shifts, 1800-0630
• Self-scheduling with every other weekend required, 6 shifts per contract
• Potential float requirement to Medical Center unit
• EPIC charting system used

Requirements

• Current RRT certification required; CRT will not be accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• License required if applicable
• EPIC experience preferred
• LTAC experience preferred
• Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Experience with oxygen therapy delivery methods including bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, and trach collar
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, alarm troubleshooting, and weaning from mechanical ventilation

Additional Information

• Works as the sole respiratory therapist on the unit, so experienced travelers are preferred
• First-time travelers will be considered, though not preferred given the unit staffing situation
• Located at a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center
• Free parking available
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility for travel rate eligibility
• Maximum of 2 RTO requests per contract
• Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
