American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for a Long Term Care setting in Houston, TX, requiring 1+ years of PTA experience and prior LTC or Rehab experience.

Details

• Long Term Care facility setting within the Physical Therapy unit
• Patient caseload typically ranges from 7-12 patients per day depending on case mix
• Treatment times average approximately 1 hour for Medicare B patients and 30-35 minutes for Medicare A and Managed Care patients
• Group therapy sessions are utilized to support caseload management
• Each therapist typically has a dedicated device for documentation
• Day shift schedule with 8-hour shifts
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Compact license accepted

Requirements

• Active PTA license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience required
• LTC or Rehab setting experience required
• One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment to patients with physical functioning disorders under PT supervision
• Administer procedures including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive or assistive devices
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising PT to adjust treatment plans as needed
• Document all regulatory and clinical information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and other required facility trainings
• Support and supervise PTA students under PT guidance when applicable
• Adhere to APTA standards and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics
• No more than 7 days of RTO may be requested
