American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a hospital-based Rehabilitation Services department, requiring 2+ years of experience and availability for Saturday shifts.

Details

• Rehabilitation Therapy setting within a hospital's Rehabilitation Services department
• Serves both inpatient and outpatient populations
• Monday-Friday 8a-4:30p with a lunch break from 12-1p, flexibility in hours may occur
• Must be able to work Saturdays with no exceptions
• 13-week assignment
• Facility requires 12 hours of non-billable orientation, including HR, safety, and EMR training

Requirements

• Current, active state OT license required
• Hawaii OT license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with ADL evaluation, ROM assessment, and functional treatment planning

Additional Information

• Provide evaluation and treatment for ADLs, ROM, strength, and function for inpatients and outpatients
• Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans based on physician referrals
• Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Provide services such as sensory integrative treatment, orthotic fabrication and fitting, and upper extremity motor function training
• Act as activities consultant for long-term care and hospital units
• Instruct patients, residents, and staff on occupational therapy recommendations
• Maintain accurate treatment documentation and communicate with physicians and care team members
• Coordinate discharge planning with community agencies as needed
• Participate in departmental in-services, staff education, and continuing professional development
• May be required to drive patients in a hospital van
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and hospital safety standards
