Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for a Long Term Care position requiring 1+ years of experience and LTC or Rehab setting background.

Details

• Long Term Care setting within the Physical Therapy unit
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Caseload typically ranges from 7-12 patients per day depending on case mix
• Treatment times average approximately 1 hour for Medicare B and 30-35 minutes for Medicare A and Managed Care patients

Requirements

• Active PTA license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience required
• LTC or Rehab setting experience required
• One reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide rehabilitative and medically necessary treatment to patients with physical functioning disorders under PT supervision
• Administer manual techniques, ambulation training, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of assistive devices
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising PT to adjust treatment plans
• Document all treatment information in the electronic documentation system per regulatory requirements
• Provide input for discharge summaries and participate in patient care conferences and utilization review meetings
• Supervise and support PTA students under PT guidance
• Adhere to APTA and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards
• Maximum of 7 days RTO can be requested
