American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapy Assistant for a Long Term Care position in Texas, requiring 2 years of OTA experience in an LTC setting.

Details

• Long term care (LTC) skilled nursing facility setting
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of OTA experience in a long term care setting required
• TX or compact OTA license required, if applicable
• Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) experience preferred

Additional Information

• Execute specialized therapy plans designed by the supervising OT to improve patient motor skills and coordination
• Train patients in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and eating using adaptive techniques
• Instruct patients and families on the use of adaptive equipment such as reachers and mobility aids
• Document patient progress, behavioral changes, and safety concerns for the supervising OT
• Provide emotional support to patients and train caregivers on home program assistance
• Prepare treatment areas, clean equipment, and may assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling and billing
• Work within a warm, home-like rehabilitative care environment focused on personalized patient goals
