Description

American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist with ASHA certification and 2+ years of acute care experience for an inpatient rehab position requiring independent Modified Barium Swallow Study competency.

Details

• Inpatient rehab setting within an acute care hospital, with possible SNF and outpatient referral involvement
• Performs Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) independently in radiology without radiologist supervision
• Uses Meditech for inpatient documentation and paper/pencil charting for outpatient documentation
• EMR transitioning to Epic starting November 1, 2025
• Generally set schedule 5 days per week, likely including 1 weekend day
• Possible floating to another facility depending on census and staffing needs

Requirements

• ASHA certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably in SNF or rehab hospital settings
• Acute care experience required
• Must be independent and proficient in completing MBS studies without radiologist supervision
• Hawaii state license required by start of assignment; license required if applicable

Additional Information

• Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start, requiring arrival in Hawaii before a Monday start
• Training provided for EMR documentation and orientation to rehab area and expectations
• Dress code is scrubs or per facility dress code policy
• Duties include acute inpatient rehab therapy with potential referrals to outpatient care
