Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift hospital position requiring at least 1.5 years of experience with adult and pediatric ventilator management.

Details

• Hospital-based Respiratory Therapy department serving adult and pediatric patient populations
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekend work required every other weekend (Friday/Saturday)
• Floats between PICU, Emergency Department, and Adult Critical Care based on skill set and hospital needs
• May float to additional units as needed
• Uses Servo-I, Servo-U, and V60 BiPAP equipment
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active New Jersey RT license required (license required if applicable)
• RRT certification required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of respiratory therapy experience required
• PICU/NICU experience highly preferred
• Experience with blood gas collection, ventilator initiation/management, BiPAP, high-flow therapy, code response, in-house patient transport, medication administration, and chest physiotherapy
• Skilled in airway management including intubation/extubation assist, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
• Epic charting system experience required

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across adult and pediatric critical care, emergency, and general units
• Participate in code response and in-house patient transport as part of care team responsibilities
• Complete EPIC training and other required modules prior to start and annually
• First-time travelers accepted for this position
• Former RWJBH employees (FT or PRN) must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to offer
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
