Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a skilled nursing facility setting requiring 2+ years of experience (or new grads with 6 months of acute care or skilled nursing experience).

Details

• 13-week assignment in a post-acute, skilled nursing facility setting with training to float to an inpatient acute care hospital in the same location
• 8-hour day shifts starting at 0800, including 2 weekend shifts per month
• Inpatient care only, treating 8-9 patients per day
• Required to cover A, B, C, and D stations
• First to float when needed
• Uses Cerner EMR
• No rehab aides, OTAs, or PTAs on the unit

Requirements

• CA PT license required if applicable
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, or new grads with 6 months of acute care or skilled nursing experience considered
• Experience with total joint replacements, stroke, deconditioning, pneumonia, and balance difficulties preferred
• Familiarity with CVA, TKA, THA, and COPD patient care preferred
• Must be able to work independently and perform patient transfers
• Excellent communication skills required
• Must work closely with an interdisciplinary team
• Valid driver's license required for identity verification

• Facility manager will conduct interview directly with no prescreen
• Candidates must not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year, though PRN employment through outside firms will be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet experience requirements
