American Traveler is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a 13-week acute care travel assignment in Wichita, Kansas, requiring active KS licensure and BLS certification.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with a large therapy team supporting a wide variety of diagnosis groups
• OT department with a daily census of approximately 250 active consults
• 2:1 OTR to COTA staffing ratio
• Typical caseload of 9-13 patients assigned per COTA per day
• Uses general acute care DME equipment
• Meditech EMR system
• Day shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active Kansas COTA license required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 6 months of acute care hospital OT experience required within the last 6 months
• Trauma experience preferred
• Comprehensive stroke experience preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Perform OT treatments for a diverse acute care patient population
• Work independently with minimal oversight and high accountability
• Strong communication and collaboration skills required to work with interdisciplinary team
• Flexibility needed given the fast-paced nature of acute care practice
• Staff enjoy autonomy in care planning alongside the interdisciplinary team
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted
