Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an inpatient acute care position, working with patients of all ages to address physical, cognitive, developmental, or emotional challenges.

Details

• Inpatient acute care hospital setting
• Primary team/service area assignment
• 8-hour day shift, Monday through Friday
• Occasional weekend coverage may be required
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Completion of an OT internship or apprenticeship program
• 1-2 years of experience preferred
• BLS certification required (AHA preferred)
• Current license required if applicable
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Strong time management, interpersonal, and communication skills

Additional Information

• Conduct assessments of patients' physical, mental, and developmental abilities
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, adjusting as needed
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic activities and home exercises
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive care
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and progress notes
• Attend staff meetings and continuing education to stay current with best practices
• Flu vaccination required during flu season with no exemptions
• Local candidates accepted; those residing within 60 miles are considered local
