Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) for a night shift contract requiring RRT credentialing within 12 months of hire and prior critical care experience preferred.

• Hospital-based Respiratory Care department serving pediatric patients
• Provides respiratory care services to all appropriate age levels across all department-served areas
• Night shift schedule
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 26-week contract

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program required
• Licensed by the state Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (license required if applicable)
• Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required within 12 months of hire
• BLS (AHA) required upon hire
• ACLS (AHA) required within 3 months of hire
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• 2+ years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred
• Previous experience in a children's-only hospital preferred
• Certifications must be issued by AHA

Additional Information

• Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff
• Document treatment information and patient response in the computerized medical record
• Serve as a resource person to medical staff
• Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring
• Provide age-appropriate patient care
• Ensure respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
• Maintain necessary respiratory therapy records
• Serve as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Local candidates will not be considered
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed
• Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer to meet compliance deadlines
