American Traveler is seeking a NICU Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week night shift contract requiring experience caring for infants under 32 weeks gestation.

Details

• Work in the Respiratory Therapy department within the NICU at a hospital setting
• Care for neonatal patients, including infants less than 32 weeks gestation
• Assignments based on volume rather than fixed patient ratios, averaging 35-40 patients per shift
• Uses GE ventilators, V60 BiPAPs, and Airvo HFNC equipment
• Meditech EMR system used
• Night shift schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Rotating weekends, approximately 4 weekend shifts per month
• No call requirements
• 13-week contract assignment

Requirements

• Active RRT license required (license required if applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Advanced 9th Edition certification required for staff caring for neonates
• Adult respiratory experience in an acute care setting required
• Adult critical care experience in ICU or ED preferred
• Minimum 6 months of experience within the last 6 months in the specialty applying for
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• Professional reference required (two references required for Florida and Missouri)

Additional Information

• Perform standard respiratory therapy procedures including nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy, arterial blood gas draws, ventilator management, inhaled nitric oxide administration, bronchoscopy assistance, and intubation assistance
• Transport patients requiring mechanical ventilation within the hospital, including to CT/MRI
• Collaborate closely with RT department team members and other hospital disciplines
• Unit staffed with 1 supervisor and 7-9 staff members per shift on both day and night shifts
• Dress code requires olive green scrub tops with black pants
• Permanent positions available on the unit
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
