American Traveler is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with a minimum of 2 years of SNF/ICF experience for a day shift, 13-week contract at a long-term care veterans home in Hawaii.

Details

• Long-term care (LTC) setting within a skilled nursing facility (SNF) and/or intermediate care facility (ICF) serving a veteran patient population
• Day shift position, generally scheduled 5 days per week with likely inclusion of one weekend day
• Departmental coverage spans 7 days per week
• Floating to other units or facilities may be required based on census and staffing needs
• EMR systems used include Net Health Rehab Optima and Epic
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Hawaii COTA license in good standing required — license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a SNF/ICF setting
• Must be available to work Hawaii State and Federal Holidays as needed based on facility operations

Additional Information

• Provide occupational therapy assistant services including evaluations, reassessments, treatments, and clinical services within scope of practice
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising therapist, physician, and interdisciplinary team
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to maximize residents' function, independence, mobility, and quality of life
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment plans and patient progress
• Complete accurate, timely, and compliant documentation per facility, state, federal, and payer requirements
• Orientation to the rehabilitation department, EMR systems, and facility workflows is provided
• Candidates who do not currently hold an active Hawaii license must apply for one upon acceptance of an offer and must have it in hand by the assignment start date
• Candidates must be available to arrive the Thursday prior to the assignment start date for a required employee health appointment on Friday
