American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of NICU Level IV or Pediatric ICU experience for a day shift position at a teaching hospital's children's hospital.

Details

• Pediatric respiratory therapy unit within a children's hospital at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital
• Work settings include NICU, Pediatric Critical Care, and Pediatrics
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Holiday rotation required
• Weekend requirement every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope may be required depending on experience level
• No floating to sister facilities
• Epic EMR preferred

Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years of respiratory therapy experience required
• NICU Level IV experience required; Pediatric ICU experience will be considered
• RRT certification required
• BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• NBRC and SC RCP (South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider) certifications accepted
• License required if applicable
• South Carolina RRT license must be in hand at time of start
• Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Experience with bronchoscopy patient care preferred
• Skilled in airway management devices, suctioning, and extubation

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy care to critically ill pediatric and neonatal patients
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Caribbean Blue scrub color required
• Block scheduling may be requested prior to assignment but is not guaranteed
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local and may be accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• During hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
