American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) with 2+ years of adult critical care, ED, and transport experience for a night shift hospital position requiring at least one completed travel assignment.

Details

• Hospital-based Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics-CRT unit
• Adult critical care and emergency department patient population
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• RRT or CRT certification accepted
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years
• Adult critical care, ED, and transport experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• MD state license required (or compact license), license required if applicable
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Skilled in airway management, intubation assist, and tracheostomy care/management
• Experience drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, COVID, pneumonia, and fresh tracheostomy

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services including medication delivery via nebulizer, MDI, and aerosol setups
• Administer respiratory medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, and Racemic epinephrine among others
• Perform chest physiotherapy and oxygen therapy interventions
• Manage ventilator troubleshooting including high pressure alarms
• Off-cycle orientation accepted, with start dates available every Monday
• Black scrub color required
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role given the travel experience requirement
