American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapy Assistant with 2+ years of LTC experience for a skilled nursing facility offering rehabilitative care in a home-like setting.

Details

• Long-term care (LTC) skilled nursing facility setting
• Occupational Therapy unit
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Current TX or compact OTA license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of OTA experience in an LTC setting required
• DOR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Execute specialized therapy plans designed by the supervising OT to improve patient motor skills and coordination
• Provide ADL training including bathing, dressing, and eating using adaptive techniques
• Instruct patients and families on the use of adaptive equipment such as reachers and mobility aids
• Document patient progress, behavioral changes, and safety concerns for the supervising OT
• Provide emotional support to patients and train caregivers on home programs
• Prepare treatment areas and clean equipment as part of daily operational tasks
• Care philosophy emphasizes personalized, compassionate treatment in a warm, supportive environment
