American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with acute care experience and MBS proficiency for a 26-week inpatient rehab assignment in Hilo, Hawaii.

Details

• Inpatient rehabilitation setting with possible floating to another facility depending on census and staffing
• Patient population includes acute care, SNF-level, and potential outpatient referrals
• Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) Studies performed independently in radiology without radiologist supervision
• Primary EMR is Epic; Meditech used for inpatient documentation, with paper and pencil documentation for outpatient
• Epic EMR experience preferred as transition to Epic occurred November 1, 2025
• Day shift, generally a set 5-day per week schedule likely including one weekend day

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist, preferably with SNF or rehab hospital experience
• Acute care experience required
• Must be able to independently and proficiently complete Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) Studies without radiologist supervision
• Active Hawaii SLP license required by start of assignment; candidates without a current HI license must apply upon acceptance of offer
• Current BLS/BCLS certification
• ASHA certification required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Provide inpatient rehabilitation speech therapy services including MBS studies, with possible outpatient referrals
• Orientation to the rehab area and training in EMR documentation will be provided
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of their assignment; plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend the Friday Employee Health appointment
• Scrubs or attire per facility dress code policy required
