American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and required feeding/swallowing expertise for a children's hospital setting.

Details

• Children's hospital setting within the Pediatric SLP unit
• 13-week assignment
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
• No weekends or holidays required per the internal schedule, though every other weekend/holiday coverage may apply
• Floats between NICU, PICU, and CICU treating patients of all ages
• Cerner charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active CCC-SLP certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Certification preferred
• Active state license required, or compact license for MD/VA; license required if applicable
• Pediatric experience required
• Feeding and swallowing treatment skills required
• Minimum experience beyond entry-level required; new graduates, clinical fellows, or candidates with only 1-2 years of experience will not be considered
• Skilled in dysphagia management including bedside swallow evaluations, compensatory strategies, and use of Passy Muir valves
• Experience treating autism, developmental delays, TBI, and ventilator-dependent patients preferred
• Experience with trach/vent patients and hyolaryngeal exercises preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessment, evaluation, plan of care development, discharge planning, and reassessments
• Provides concurrent therapy documentation and treatment
• Utilizes functional maintenance programs and patient/family education strategies
• Applies NOMS (National Outcomes Measurement System) evaluation tools
• Performs oral peripheral exams as part of clinical assessments
• Works within pediatric outpatient and pediatric rehabilitation facility settings
• Local candidates accepted with no mileage restriction at the same bill rate
• Returning travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least one year
• Maximum RTO of one week permitted; full-week RTO requires making up missed shifts or the assignment may be extended
• No RTO permitted after the initial offer is accepted
