American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for a 13-week night shift contract at an inpatient hospital in Urbana, IL, with Epic EMR and Level 1 Trauma experience required.

Details

• Inpatient hospital respiratory care department setting, including inpatient units and the Emergency Department
• Serves a broad patient population spanning Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patients
• Performs blood gas analysis (Arterial, Venous, and Capillary)
• Uses Epic EMR for charting and charge entry
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
• Weekend rotation: approximately every other weekend (3 weekends per 6-week period)
• Holiday rotation required for major holidays
• No on-call or floating requirements

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Minimum 1 year of relevant Respiratory Therapy experience
• Level 1 Trauma center experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) and NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
• Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required if applicable
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director
• Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, care plan evaluation, sleep therapy documentation, and blood gas analysis
• Completes ventilator patient assessments and recommends timely interventions or referrals as needed
• Prepares, tests, and monitors respiratory therapy equipment for safe operation; reports malfunctions to management
• Documents procedures, patient responses, and sleep therapy compliance in the EMR and communicates findings to the physician team
• Assists with cleaning and stocking of respiratory care equipment and supplies on inpatient units
• Candidates who have been on assignment at Carle Health for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break before returning to any Carle Health location
• Requested time off (RTO) should not exceed 7 total days for the duration of the 13-week contract
