Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at a large Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and circulating skills.

• Pediatric OR unit within a large, short-term acute care hospital and academic medical center with 1,500+ staffed beds
• Level I Trauma Center setting
• Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
• On-call required for varying nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) and weekends (7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM); frequency ranges from 1–3 call shifts per 4-week schedule
• Weekend work required; varies month to month
• Block scheduling is not available
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Charting via Epic
• Parking available at approximately $125/month

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted but must be active prior to start date
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Circulating experience required
• Experience at a large Trauma Center facility required; Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• PALS certification preferred
• No prior disciplinary actions or priors on nursing license
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted for this position

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• RTO of up to 7 days may be approved automatically; RTO exceeding 7 days requires additional facility approval
• Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID-19 vaccine exemptions are considered for religious or medical reasons only
• One reference is required for consideration
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
