American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with prior travel experience and Level 3 NICU proficiency, including hands-on neonatal oscillating ventilator experience, for a 26-week day shift assignment at a short-term acute care hospital in Bridgeport, CT.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting with 426 staffed beds, part of Yale New Haven Health System
• Level II Trauma Center
• Primary assignment in a Level III NICU; travelers should also expect to float to Pediatric and other hospital units based on census and staffing needs
• Floating between Bridgeport and Milford campuses may be required
• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required; holiday coverage expected
• 26-week contract
• Charting via Epic (experience preferred)
• Free parking available on-site

Requirements

• Active CRT or RRT credential plus applicable state license required; license required if applicable
• BLS required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Prior travel assignment experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Level III NICU experience required
• Proficiency with neonatal oscillating ventilators required
• Draeger ventilator experience required
• High frequency jet ventilator experience strongly preferred
• Trauma center experience required
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services to critically ill neonatal patients in a Level III NICU
• May be asked to orient students or new hires as needed
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities if needed
• Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine with booster required; religious or medical exemptions may be considered
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
• Former permanent staff must have a separation of at least 2 years before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; any RTO requests after offer acceptance will not be approved
