American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Pool ICU position in Oklahoma City, requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across multiple pediatric and adult specialty units.

Details

• Hospital-based Float Pool position with floating responsibilities across multiple units including a 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, and 112-bed NICU
• Floating also includes acute care units such as surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem/onc, step-down, and cardiac peds
• When floated to the NICU, assignments are limited to feeder/grower patients only — low acuity, not traditional NICU
• Float Pool nurses serve as first line for skills across units
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or valid compact (eNLC) RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen therapy, and IV infusions required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates
• Full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for managing an assigned group of patients across a variety of acuity levels and specialty areas
• Monitors physiological data, administers medications, and manages IV infusions and blood products
• Collaborates with physicians, delegates tasks to support staff, and communicates care plans with patients and families
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 weeks (one contract plus one extension) before being eligible to reapply
• Compliance onboarding (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance — compliance deadlines are strictly enforced and non-negotiable
• BSN from a Board-approved program is preferred
