American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) position at a Level 1 trauma academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience and the ability to both scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries.

Details

• Work in the OR Float Pool of a large Level 1 trauma academic medical center with 1,000+ beds
• 56-bed OR serving both inpatient and outpatient cases, plus 5 procedural rooms
• Complex cardiac patient population including CABG, valve repair/replacement, repeat cardiac procedures, heart failure, ECMO, VAD, heart and lung transplant, pulmonary thromboendarterectomy (PTE), cardiac trauma, and adult congenital cases
• Adult patient population only; pediatric OR is a separate facility
• 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), Monday through Friday; specific days worked will vary based on unit need and block scheduling is not available
• Call is required for all travelers in cardiac surgery — three layers of call coverage, 24/7, with requirements rotating every 6 weeks
• Assignment is 13 weeks in length
• Floating within the OR may be required, but not between locations

Requirements

• Active RN license — Tennessee (TN) or Compact license required
• Minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Must be able to both scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating for complex cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical cases
• Call responsibilities are in addition to three 12-hour scheduled shifts per week
• This position is not open to first-time travelers — prior travel experience is required
