Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) position at a large academic Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience, prior travel experience, and the ability to both scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries.

Details

• Work in the OR Float Pool of a 1,000+ bed academic Level 1 trauma center
• 56-bed OR serving both inpatient and outpatient cases, plus 5 procedural rooms
• Complex patient population including CABG, valve and repeat cardiac procedures, heart failure, ECMO, VAD, heart and lung transplant, pulmonary thromboendarterectomy (PTE), cardiac trauma, and adult congenital cases
• Adult patients only — pediatric OR is a separate facility
• 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), Monday through Friday; specific days vary based on unit need and a block schedule cannot be offered
• Call is required for all travelers — three layers of call coverage, 24/7, with requirements rotating every 6 weeks
• 13-week contract
• Floating within the OR is possible, but not between facility locations

Requirements

• Active TN or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must be able to both scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries
• Current BLS certification required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating complex cardiovascular surgical cases
• Must be willing and available to take call in addition to three 12-hour shifts per week
• This position is at a major academic teaching hospital with a high-acuity cardiovascular surgery program
