American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) travel position working night shifts at a Level II Trauma pediatric hospital in Wichita, KS.

Details

• Located in a pediatric hospital setting within a Level II Trauma facility
• 15-bed PICU unit with a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Staffed with Intensivists, RNs, and Respiratory Therapists on the night shift
• EMR: Meditech / CPN
• General cardiac/respiratory (CR) monitoring equipment used
• Common procedures include IV starts, blood draws, and TPT placements
• CRRT experience is preferred

Requirements

• Active KS or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care PICU RN experience required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• At least one professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• CRRT experience preferred
• APHON certification preferred
• Pediatric teaching hospital experience preferred

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Works well under pressure and in a teaching hospital environment; patient care experience is a top priority
• Day shift is supported by Intensivists, RNs, Desk Techs, RT, Dietary, and Case Management; night shift includes Intensivists, RNs, and RT
