Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Step Down position requiring ACLS, strong cardiac and IV skills, and a current NY RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Step Down unit within a hospital setting
• Cardiac drip management, EKG strip interpretation, and all types of wound care are core components of the role
• Strong IV skills required for day-to-day patient care
• Floating to Med/Surg is required
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of current Med/Surg Step Down or similar experience required
• Proficiency with IV insertion and management, cardiac drips, EKG interpretation, and wound care required
• Travel nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

• An additional 8 hours of CEUs must be completed as part of facility orientation
• Two supervisor references are required for consideration — one from within the past year and one from within the past two years, each from someone who can speak to clinical skills and work ethic
• A skills checklist for the Med/Surg Tele specialty completed within the past year is required for consideration
