Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Illinois, requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• ICU position within a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required
• No block scheduling; no special scheduling requests permitted
• This is a mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float at the facility's discretion, which may include units outside primary competency
• Floating may occur up to 50 miles from the home facility, with as little as 2 hours' notice before a shift
• Charting via Cerner
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience required
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Proof of COVID vaccination required; no exceptions

Additional Information

• When floated outside of primary competency, a team-based care model is utilized
• Scrub color is navy blue; scrubs are not provided by the facility
• Paid parking is available in an adjacent garage (~2–3 minute walk to the main entrance) for $5 per entry
• RTO is limited to 5 days maximum per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days at a time
• RTO on weekends will not be approved
• No RTO on holidays or the day before or after a holiday
• Local candidates are accepted; must reside within 75 miles of the facility
