Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant with an active California PTA license for a 13-week outpatient rehabilitation contract at a medical center in Modoc County, CA.

Details

• Outpatient physical therapy setting within a medical center
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8AM–5PM with no weekend requirements
• Caseload is 8–9 patients per day with 1-hour slots for evaluations and 45-minute follow-up appointments; no double booking
• Modalities used include spinal traction, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, diathermy, and infrared light
• Procedures include therapeutic exercise, soft tissue mobilization, gait training, neuromuscular re-education, orthotic/prosthetic training, and taping

Requirements

• Graduate of an APTA-approved PTA program
• Active California PTA license required if applicable
• BCLS certification required and must be maintained without lapse
• Experience in acute care, skilled nursing, or outpatient physical therapy is preferred
• Proficiency in performing physical therapy procedures and modalities required
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills required

Additional Information

• Provide physical therapy treatment under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, including observing, evaluating, and documenting the effects of each treatment
• Maintain organized, legible patient records with objective findings, timed and dated chart entries
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate treatment plan changes promptly to the supervising PT
• Assist with front office duties including answering phones, patient registration, and scheduling as needed
• Responsible for maintaining department cleanliness and adequate supply PAR levels
• Professional appearance and neat dress code required with ID badge worn while on duty
• Must work within the guidelines of the California State Practice Act
