American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level II Trauma hospital in Marquette, MI, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and working night shifts in an adult and geriatric care setting.

Details

• Located on the 6th floor of a 225-bed specialty care hospital with a Level II Trauma designation
• Acute Medical/Surgical unit serving adult and geriatric patients (ages 18+)
• Patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Rotating weekend shifts required
• Occasional floating to similar units
• Equipment includes telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, bladder scanners, and Dynamaps
• Charting system: Cerner

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to exercise decisive judgment with minimal supervision
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate

• Facility is located in Marquette, MI, the largest community in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and home to Northern Michigan University
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
• Orientation is held bi-weekly
• Scrub color: Galaxy Blue (Navy is also acceptable)
• Fingernails must be kept clean and at a reasonable length per the Hand Hygiene Policy; offensive tattoos must be covered; excessive jewelry is not permitted
