Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Transplant ICU position requiring a DC RN license, at least 2 years of ICU experience, and the ability to work rotating day and night shifts.

Details

• Located in a Transplant ICU (S44) within a hospital setting
• Rotating day and night shifts: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30 days / 19:00–7:30 nights)
• Every other weekend (EOW) requirement
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required; a pending DC license is accepted at time of consideration but must be in hand prior to start date — proof of pending status must be provided
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Demonstrated experience in: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multi-system organ failure, IV insulin protocols, GI surgery, chronic/acute renal failure, CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drains (EVD), hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, respiratory/thoracic care, infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, phlebotomy, and surgical wounds with drains/wound vac
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on the lethal rhythms section
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
