American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a hospital in Elizabethtown, KY, performing a full range of respiratory care services including invasive/non-invasive mechanical ventilation and emergency critical care support.

Details

• Hospital-based respiratory therapy department with direct patient care responsibilities
• Patient population includes critical/emergent, general care, neonatal, and diagnostic cases
• Performs invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, medicated and non-medicated therapies, arterial puncture, blood gas analysis, oximetry monitoring, pulmonary function testing, and airway management
• Responds to code blue and rapid response situations throughout the facility
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
• Mandatory certification through the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care or an Indiana Professional Licensing Agency respiratory license appropriate for the facility location; license required if applicable
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NRP required for candidates working with neonatal populations

Additional Information

• Responds to emergency situations including code blue, rapid response, and high-risk delivery situations with care of the compromised newborn
• Performs and/or assists with advanced specialty procedures such as endotracheal tube insertion, arterial line placement, and bronchoscopy
• Conducts diagnostic procedures including pulmonary function testing, 12-lead ECG, holter monitoring, and neurodiagnostic studies such as EEG
• Documents patient assessments, therapies, and clinical information in the medical record and participates in shift handoff reporting
• Provides patient and family education on respiratory therapy, disease management, and medications
• Responsible for cleaning, preparing, and maintaining respiratory equipment including mechanical ventilators and therapeutic gas delivery devices
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives, departmental meetings, and ongoing facility processes
