American Traveler is hiring an Inpatient Occupational Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a 9-week engagement at an acute care hospital in Detroit, MI, with two schedule options available.

Details

• Inpatient rehabilitation unit in an acute care hospital setting in Detroit, MI
• Two schedule options available: Tuesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday or Sunday through Wednesday
• 10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, four days per week
• 40 hours per week
• 9-week engagement with possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent position
• Candidates may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital

Requirements

• Active Michigan OT license required if applicable
• OTR credential from the Michigan Board of Occupational Therapists required
• Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapy experience required
• Inpatient rehab experience required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• Acute care experience preferred; new graduate candidates with the right qualifications may be considered

Additional Information

• Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or psychosocial deficits
• Responsibilities include assessment of independent living skills, plan of care design and modification, treatment implementation, documentation, and patient/caregiver education
• Assist with discharge planning, including adaptive equipment selection and support program recommendations
• Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians in accordance with established regulations and practice standards
• Online orientation modules must be completed onsite prior to start date, typically one week in advance
• COVID vaccination is mandatory
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• Any time-off requests made after an offer is accepted will need to be discussed with management once the assignment begins
