American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-volume Labor & Delivery position at a Level IV Maternal Designation academic teaching facility in Austin, TX, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.

• Labor & Delivery unit at a Level IV Maternal Designation facility
• Unit features 20 LDR suites, 4 C-section suites, 10 triage rooms, 51 Mother-Baby Couplet rooms, and 14 monitored antepartum rooms
• High-risk, fast-paced environment performing 500+ deliveries per month
• Academic teaching service with large private OB practices
• 24-hour in-house attending OB, anesthesia, and NICU coverage
• Perinatal Transport Program in place
• Facility is expanding to a new Women's Tower in mid-2026
• Day shift: 06:45–19:15
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license valid in Texas
• Current BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross
• Current ACLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D/Perinatal experience in a high-volume delivery service
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program
• US Social Security Number required
• Valid driver's license required
• 2 professional references required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Preferred: 3–5 years of perinatal clinical experience in a high-volume delivery service
• Preferred certifications: S.T.A.B.L.E. Program and Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• Preferred education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Local candidates are eligible but may be subject to a reduced pay rate based on proximity to the facility
• COVID vaccination is not required by this facility
