American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level III NICU position at a Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience and recent NICU background.

Details

• 492-bed Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with a Level III NICU
• NICU respiratory therapy unit; NICU therapists will also rotate to adult patients as needed
• Patient population includes NICU and general hospital patients
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation
• Voluntary on-call only
• Holiday coverage required for one major and one minor seasonal holiday per facility policy
• Up to 7 days of time off may be approved, excluding blackout dates
• EMR: Cerner (experience required for first-time travelers)
• Ventilators used: PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, and Airvo
• Monitoring system: Spacelabs; medication dispensing: Omnicell
• Floating to any like unit or patient location within the facility

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required; candidates with only 1 year of experience will not be considered
• RRT preferred; CRT with at least 2 years of experience will be considered
• Level III NICU experience within the past 12 months required
• Cerner or Epic EMR experience required for first-time travelers
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP; ACLS/APLS preferred
• NICU-specific skills: ground transports, nitric oxide administration; transport experience preferred
• AL state license required if applicable
• Must provide a reference from a charge nurse or above from within the past 12 months
• DOB (day and month) required for consideration
• Copy of certifications required for consideration
• SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted with at least 2 years of experience and EMR experience in Cerner or Epic
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
• New travelers and return travelers absent for 1 or more years will complete 24 hours of classroom orientation plus 24 hours of on-unit training; orientation for rehires is evaluated on a case-by-case basis based on last date of service
• Interviews are required; candidates should be prepared for a SimpliFi interview and manager approval process
• Scrubs: any color except bright or neon
