Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a 13-week outpatient-focused contract in a small community setting, requiring at least 1 year of experience and current BLS certification.

Details

• Primarily outpatient setting (approximately 90-95%), serving a small community with a broad range of PT needs
• Patient caseload of 8-12 patients per day in 30-45 minute treatment blocks
• Patient mix is approximately 90% orthopedic and 5-10% general weakness and neurological conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, post-surgical rehab, neuro, balance, and amputees
• Approximately 5-10% of workload involves acute care and swing bed inpatient evaluations, with a PTA carrying over ongoing care
• Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, 8-hour day shifts; no weekends except occasionally 1-3 hours once every 2-3 months
• No holiday coverage required
• Charting is done in Cerner, which is transitioning to Epic

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program required
• Active PT license required by start date; license required if applicable
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• Cerner EMR experience beneficial given the system transition to Epic
• 2 professional references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference within the last 3 years of relevant experience

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include evaluation and treatment across outpatient and limited inpatient settings, collaborating with a PTA who assumes ongoing inpatient caseload after initial evaluation
• Team includes 1 rehab aide and is supervised by a PT manager
• 8-hour on-site orientation provided
• Clean, professional workplace attire or scrubs required
• Candidates who previously worked at this facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their application date
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local, which may affect travel pay eligibility
