American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Outpatient/Acute Care position requiring a DPT or Master's degree and experience in both outpatient and acute care settings.

Details

• Primarily outpatient clinic setting with monthly weekend coverage in the acute care setting
• Day shift schedule: 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM
• Weekend coverage required once per month in the acute setting
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 13-week contract length
• May be required to work one holiday per contract in rotation with staff

Requirements

• Virginia Physical Therapy license required (license required if applicable, does not need to be in hand upon submission)
• BLS certification required
• DPT or Master's degree in Physical Therapy required
• Experience in both outpatient clinic and acute care settings required
• Prior travel experience preferred, ideally 1 year
• Skilled in orthopedic assessment and treatment including gait training, joint mobilization, and post-op rehabilitation
• Experience with therapeutic modalities such as cryotherapy, e-stim, moist heat, TENS, and ultrasound
• Proficient in documentation including evaluations, plans of care, and discharge summaries
• Experience with adaptive and assistive devices, including walkers, crutches, and lift equipment

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning, and delivery of care across orthopedic, neurologic, and general rehabilitation populations
• Provides home exercise programs and patient/family education as part of care
• Facility allows 1 call-off shift per 2 weeks
• All RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates within 100 miles of the facility (measured from driver's license address) are not accepted
• Previous employees must have a minimum one-year break before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who have worked 365 days on assignment are not eligible to return, regardless of separation period
