American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with prior travel experience and Level 3 NICU proficiency, including hands-on neonatal oscillating vent experience, for a night shift assignment at a short-term acute care hospital in Bridgeport, CT.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds, part of the Yale New Haven Health System
• Level II Trauma Center
• Assignment in the CRT/Respiratory unit with primary work in a Level III NICU
• Pediatric units are also part of the rotation
• Floating between the Bridgeport and Milford campuses is required, as well as rotation through all areas of the hospital including NICU and Pediatric units based on census and staffing needs
• Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Charting via Epic
• Free parking available on-site

Requirements

• Current CRT or RRT credential required
• Active state license required if applicable
• BLS required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Level III or IV NICU experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Proficiency with neonatal oscillating ventilators required
• Draeger ventilator experience required
• Experience with high-frequency jet ventilators preferred
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted for this position
• 1 professional reference required for consideration
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Travelers may be asked to orient students or new hires as needed
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities if needed
• Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine with booster is required; religious and medical exemptions are considered
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; any RTO must be finalized prior to offer acceptance, as additional requests will not be approved after acceptance
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
