American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) with 2+ years of experience for a 12-week inpatient/outpatient assignment at a post-acute care setting in Texas.

Details

• Inpatient and outpatient (IP/OP) physical therapy unit in a post-acute care setting
• Patient population includes general SNF, orthopedic, neurological, wound care, debility, fractures, sports injuries, and a small percentage of amputations and neuro cases (no acutely ill patients at this campus)
• Inpatient cases include acute, observation, skilled, wound care, and VAC therapy; outpatient covers all diagnoses
• Approximately 7 treatment hours per day across a combination of inpatient and outpatient settings
• MEDITECH used for documentation
• Monday–Friday, day shift (7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM); no weekends, no call
• Float between inpatient and outpatient as needed
• Holiday coverage may be required and will be discussed during the interview

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent PT experience required, including both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Active Texas PT license and national PT license required; license required if applicable
• Active BLS certification required; pending certifications are not accepted
• Wound care experience preferred but not required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• Supported by 2 full-time staff PTs who will assist with cases outside the traveler's experience, as well as 2–3 PTAs and 1 therapy tech
• Specialized cases are referred to a sister facility; travelers will not be expected to manage cases beyond their scope
• Brief department-specific orientation provided
• May be asked to precept students or new staff as needed
• Maroon scrubs required; not provided by the facility
• Reliable attendance is essential; call-outs are strongly discouraged and may result in termination
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
