Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with experience across multiple patient populations for a night shift position at an inpatient hospital with Level 1 Trauma designation.

Details

• Inpatient hospital setting, including general inpatient units and the Emergency Department
• Cares for Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patient populations
• Performs blood gas analysis (Arterial, Venous, and Capillary)
• Uses Epic EMR for charting and care documentation
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: approximately every other weekend (3 weekends per 6-week period)
• Holiday rotation across 6 major Carle holidays
• No floating required
• No on-call requirement

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Illinois RCP license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of relevant respiratory care experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director
• Complete patient assessments, including ventilator patients, and recommend timely interventions or referrals as appropriate
• Accurately document procedures, patient responses, and care plan updates in the EMR
• Assist with cleaning respiratory equipment and stocking respiratory supplies on inpatient units
• Candidates who have been on continuous assignment at this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning to any facility within the system
• RTO is not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Candidates will be interviewed by facility leadership as part of the selection process
