American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for a 13-week night shift contract at an inpatient hospital setting in Urbana, IL, with Epic EMR experience and Level 1 Trauma background required.

Details

• Inpatient hospital respiratory care department, including inpatient units and the Emergency Room
• Patient population spans neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Performs arterial, venous, and capillary blood gas analysis
• Responsibilities include ventilator patient assessments, equipment preparation and testing, equipment maintenance, and stocking of respiratory supplies
• EMR charting and charging in Epic required
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• Weekend coverage required approximately every other weekend (3 weekends per 6-week period)
• Holiday rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• No floating requirements

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Minimum 1 year of relevant respiratory care experience
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential
• Illinois RCP license required (if applicable)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director
• Evaluate patients for routine respiratory care therapy on inpatient units and in the Emergency Room
• Complete assessments on ventilator patients and all other patients receiving respiratory care services
• Accurately document on respiratory flow sheets, care plans, and charge in the EMR
• Recommend timely interventions and the need for further treatment or referral as part of each patient's respiratory care regimen
• Record procedures, patient response, and compliance with sleep therapy documentation, and relay information to the physician as needed
• Candidates will undergo a leader interview as part of the selection process
• RTO not to exceed 7 days for the duration of the 13-week contract
• Travelers who have been on continuous assignment at this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
