American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at an acute care hospital in Orangeburg, SC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and telemetry competency.

Details

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a 286-bed acute care hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope to similar units may be required to meet facility needs
• Charting performed in Epic

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active license prior to start
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry competency required
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

• Level III Trauma acute care hospital
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Online orientation modules must be completed prior to start date
• Royal blue scrubs required

• Candidates who have previously worked as permanent or PRN staff within the MUSC system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs
• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
• During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
