American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Trauma Level 1 experience for a night shift position requiring proficiency in adult critical care, mechanical ventilation, and a broad range of respiratory medications and delivery methods.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with a Respiratory Therapy unit serving adult and geriatric patients
• Trauma Level 1 facility
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units or campuses may be required based on census needs; floating is limited to areas where documented competencies exist
• Charting via Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RRT license for South Carolina required (pending license not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience
• Trauma Level 1 experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Proficiency in adult critical care procedures including extubation, nasal/oral airway placement, suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care
• Experience administering respiratory medications including albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, terbutaline sulfate, tobramycin, and Xopenex
• Experience delivering medications via aerosol mask, aerosol trach setup, Medihaler, and metered dose inhaler (MDI)
• Experience with handheld, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers
• Experience with high-flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy
• Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Driver's license and Social Security Card required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration
• License required if applicable

• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible for this night shift RRT position; candidates under 50 miles are ineligible
