Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience and prior travel experience for a night shift position at a community hospital serving a wide range of patient populations across the ED, ICU, and general floors.

Details

• Community hospital setting with respiratory therapy coverage across the ED, ICU, and general floors
• All RTs rotate through the Emergency Department, general floors, and ICU
• Adult critical care and emergency department are core work settings; NICU experience is a plus
• Pulmonary Rehab and Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) lab experience are a bonus
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Weekend rotation: 2 weekends on, 1 weekend off
• Epic EMR — experience required
• Charge experience required

Requirements

• Current RRT credential required; CRT accepted
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
• Prior travel assignment required — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Charge experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Active certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, CRT; RRT preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP, CPAP, ABG interpretation, airway management, and a broad range of medication delivery systems required
• Proficiency with tracheostomy care, intubation assist, and pulmonary hygiene procedures required
• NICU, Pulmonary Function Testing, and Pulmonary Rehab experience preferred
• Experience with Draeger Evita XL ventilator preferred
• MN license required if applicable
• Candidate's primary residence must be more than 25 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across a diverse patient population spanning the ED, ICU, and general floors
• Wide variety of skills required due to the broad range of patients served
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 9 months before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) for the contract; no RTO permitted within the first 2 weeks, and all RTO must be submitted at the time of consideration
• Holiday coverage is required as needed
• All travelers must complete in-person fingerprinting in MN on the Monday prior to their start date — no exceptions; this is a MN State requirement and travelers are responsible for their own travel arrangements to complete it
• Lab work must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• Medical or religious exemption documentation required if applicable for vaccine requirements
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
