Description

American Traveler is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist with inpatient experience for a 13-week travel contract at a Level 2 trauma center offering a diverse caseload across adult and pediatric acute care, ICU, rehab, and specialty programs.

Details

• Acute inpatient setting at a Level 2 adult and pediatric trauma center and primary stroke center
• Caseload includes adult and pediatric ICUs, acute inpatient rehab, same-day discharge joint program, trauma, neuro, ortho, general med/surg, oncology, peds inpatient rehab, adult inpatient rehab, and stroke specialty program
• Department handles approximately 120–150 patients per day; individual therapist workload is approximately 9 evaluations and 16 treatments per day
• 8-hour day shifts with variable scheduling; self-scheduling is not permitted
• Weekend and holiday coverage required on a rotating basis with core staff; comp days are scheduled for weekends
• On-call may be required
• 13-week contract
• Charting system is Cerner, which is transitioning to Epic

Requirements

• Active OT license required by start date; license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of relevant OT experience
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Experience with ADL evaluation and documentation supporting next level of care
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to cover all unit areas including acute inpatient, ICU, and inpatient rehab for both adult and pediatric populations
• 2 references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from the relevant specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include ADL evaluations, treatment delivery, and clinical documentation justifying next level of care across all covered areas
• Supported by 1 rehab aide and 1 COTA on scheduled shifts
• Orientation hours vary based on individual skill level
• Therapists are granted clinical privileges at this facility and must complete a credentialing process; this process can take up to 2 months or longer from submission to start
• Any solid color, clean and professional scrubs are acceptable
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their submission date
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a adjusted pay structure
