Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a PICU-based travel assignment at a children's hospital, with a minimum of 18 months–2 years of NICU or PICU experience and Cerner charting proficiency required.

• Pediatric inpatient setting at a children's hospital specializing in NICU, PICU, and Pediatric Acute Care
• Home unit of NICU, PICU, or Peds will be assigned upon arrival and may change based on facility need
• Primary assignment area is L&D; NICU and PICU experience will also be utilized
• Charting is performed in Cerner (experience required)
• Shift options include 3x12 or 4x12-hour shifts, days or nights (7:00–19:00 or 19:00–7:00)
• Every other weekend work is required
• Floating to PICU and some Pediatric Acute Care areas, as well as to affiliate hospitals nearby, is required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Current Indiana state license or Compact License required (must be in hand at time of consideration)
• Active ACLS and BLS certifications required (AHA or RQI accepted, must be current)
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• NRP required (may be obtained after offer is extended, as determined by the client)
• PALS preferred
• Minimum 18 months–2 years of NICU or PICU experience required
• L&D experience required
• Children's hospital experience within the last 3 years required; experience at a Level 1 adult facility may also be considered
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA
• License required if applicable

• Former permanent or PRN employees of the facility must have been away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Candidates must be comfortable with and aware of the every other weekend requirement prior to consideration
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or fewer may be auto-approved
• Travelers should be prepared to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility
