American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Occupational Therapist with experience in pediatric feeding disorders for a top-ranked, Magnet-recognized children's hospital in Southern California.

• Pediatric outpatient occupational therapy setting at a top 10 nationally ranked children's hospital (U.S. News & World Report), Magnet Recognized, and Level 1 Trauma facility
• Primary focus on evaluation and treatment of pediatric patients with feeding and eating difficulties, with potential for general pediatric developmental OT coverage
• Common diagnoses include Pediatric Feeding Disorder, Oral Aversion, Dysphagia, ARFID, Failure to Thrive, Autism, Developmental Delay, Fine Motor Delay, and Sensory Processing Difficulties
• Patient population ranges from 8 months to older pediatric ages, with experience treating patients 18 months and older required
• 4x10 schedule, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:00 AM–6:30 PM (patient care hours 8:00 AM–6:00 PM; start/end times may vary approximately 30 minutes for documentation)
• No on-call requirements; may be called off based on patient volume/census
• Charting via Epic (experience preferred)
• 20-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum 1.5 years of OT experience, with required experience in the assessment and treatment of pediatric patients with feeding and eating difficulties
• CA OT license required; candidates licensed in another state may utilize the 60-day rule to practice in CA while obtaining their CA license, but must be actively working toward licensure upon offer — license required if applicable
• NBCOT certification required
• BLS (AHA) required
• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA-accredited program, or Bachelor's degree from an AOTA-accredited program if graduated prior to 2004
• Ability to independently evaluate and treat a full caseload of patients with pediatric feeding disorder as the primary referral reason
• Experience with patients 18 months and older required; experience with patients 8 months and older preferred
• Experience with swallowing disorders preferred
• Children's hospital experience preferred, not required
• A brief statement of the candidate's experience in pediatric feeding is required for consideration
• Date of birth required for consideration
• SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Orientation and training will take place at the Plaza location for approximately 1–2 weeks
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates (within 50 miles of the facility) are not accepted for this position
• Maximum of 6 days RTO; travelers are required to work 2 out of 3 holidays
• Any color scrubs are accepted
• Former permanent staff must wait one year before being eligible to apply as a traveler
• Due to the merger of Rady Children's and Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) to form Rady Children's Health, any clinician who is a Do Not Return (DNR) for CHOC will not be considered; eligibility for previously cancelled CHOC travelers will require review by Rady leadership
• Pre-employment modules are required to be completed prior to the start date and are non-billable
