American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Oncology position requiring active oncology certification and a minimum of 2 years of PCU/stepdown experience.

Details

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) focused on general medical and oncology stepdown patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6, with support staff available when ratios flex higher and decreased assignments for chemo admits
• Administers chemotherapy via IV and performs IV starts
• Uses Welch Allyn vital sign towers and Sigma IV pumps
• Documents in Epic (experience required)
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Works every other weekend as assigned by manager/scheduler; remaining days are self-scheduled
• Floating required to other Med/Surg areas, including AU and ER, to care for Med/Surg patients
• Charge RN is not typically included in patient assignment
• Block scheduling may be accommodated upon request

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), NIH Stroke Scale, and either ONCC or ONS certification (ONC must be in hand; pending ONS will be accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of PCU/stepdown experience required
• Oncology and chemotherapy administration experience required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Ability to perform IV starts required

Additional Information

• Provides care to general medical and oncology stepdown patients, including chemotherapy administration
• Must be available and on-site for the first two weeks of the assignment
• Any RTO requests made after offer acceptance must be discussed directly with the on-site manager
• 13-week contract
