American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of acute care experience for a 13-week travel assignment covering neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations on night shift.

Details

• Acute care hospital respiratory care unit serving newborn, pediatric, and adult patient populations
• Potential to float to a Level 3 NICU for candidates with NICU experience, NRP, and PALS; no floating required for those without this background
• Responsibilities include standard respiratory therapy, ventilator management, protocol implementation, blood gas analysis, and diagnostic procedures
• Equipment used includes BiPAP (Vision/V60), Philips V60 ventilators, Servo ventilators, Fisher & Paykel heaters and Airvo, and i-STAT for point-of-care testing
• Medication administration via Pyxis
• Epic EMR used hospital-wide
• 12-hour night shifts (1830–0700), 4 shifts per week (48 hours)
• Every third weekend required
• Holidays scheduled per department needs
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• NBRC RRT credential required
• Nebraska (NE) state license required (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS certification required (AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA) required
• PALS and NRP preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an acute care setting
• Experience providing respiratory care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Skills in patient assessment, protocol implementation, arterial blood gas (ABG) performance, non-invasive and invasive ventilation management, airway management, and participation in Codes and Rapid Response
• 2 references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from the position's specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Advanced skills such as participation in C-sections, neonatal resuscitation, high-frequency ventilation, and other NICU duties may be performed based on individual knowledge and competency
• Will not work alone; support is available on shift
• Orientation period is 24–36 hours depending on experience and competency; additional orientation time may be required for candidates assigned to the Level 3 NICU
• Navy blue scrub tops and pewter (medium gray) scrub pants required; any undershirt must be solid navy or gray with an approved logo
• Scrub jackets must match the scrub top color; shoes should be modest and preferably solid black, white, or gray
• Tattoos containing profanity or promoting violence must be covered; covering of all body tattoos is encouraged
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
